REGENERATION, the new exhibit at NYSCI, opened last night.  To understand the installations, I followed the group of our Explainers around.  Like Barbara in this photo, I listened intently to the descriptions. It was all quite interesting, and I was delighted to see NYSCI take a risk, and work with artists who had personal visions.
It remains to be seen how our young visitors will react.  Each piece needs to be explained to be appreciated, and it will take some patience.  Some pieces even need a tablet and one’s app capabilities to understand what’s going on.  This lets out many of our Corona neighbors and our school groups. But I understand an Explainer will be on hand with a tablet to show folks that aspect.
We would like to support this exhibit with resources in the library.  I’m still trying to figure out exactly how to do that, which subject and disciplines to search for.  Updates to follow!
